Abstract
Insulated iron powder for magnet cores particularly for high frequency purposes is produced by passing the grains of powder through a distributing device, for instance a sieve, and directly thereafter through an insulating liquid, for example, an artificial or natural resin dissolved in acetone. The liquid may be kept in circulation to separate further the particles. The separation of the particles may be effected by a shaking device or blower instead of a sieve. Phenol-formaldehyde resin, shellac, polystyrol, colophonium and water-glass are mentioned as suitable insulating materials. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a method which consists in passing the iron powder through insulating material in the form of vapour. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.ALSO:Insulated iron powder for magnet cores, particularly for high frequency purposes is produced by passing the grains of powder through a distributing device, for instance a sieve, and directly thereafter through an insulating liquid, for example an artificial or natural resin dissolved in acetone.
