446,215. Protectors for heels of shoes. LEWIS, A., 35D, Gibson Square, Islington, and SILVERMAN, I., 618, High Road, Tottenham, both in London. Feb. 22, 1935, No. 5765. [Class 17 (iii)] One or more apertured lugs 2 carried by a heel protector 1 are inserted in correspondingly positioned slots 10 in the heel 7 or in a lift thereof and are engaged by the tapering forward end 12 of a screw or similar member 11 inserted in a direction transverse to the lugs through apertures in the heel or lift, to detachably secure the protector in position. The lugs may be in the form of bent wire loops with eyes, and with the ends splayed apart to anchor them in the protector 1. Instead of the screws shown, wood screws of tapering shank may be employed.
