Abstract

412,513. Foot - arch supports. MATTHIAS, E., Villa Spelma, St. Moritz, Switzerland. Jan. 15, 1934, No. 1483. Convention date, July 14, 1933. [Class 81 (ii).] A foot-arch support comprises an arched plate 1, preferably of metal, having a curvilinear aperture 3 therein which divides it into a relatively rigid peripheral portion 5 and into springy tongues 6, 7 surrounded by said portion. The position and size of the tongues is varied to suit each individual foot. A support for a flat foot is shown in Fig. 4, for a spread foot in Fig. 5. In the latter construction tongues 15 are provided to support the tongue 11 from below. This tongue may be divided at its forward end into two branches by a projecting part of the peripheral portion.
