445,760. Carton openers. BATCHELOR, G. H. R., 57, Gracechurch Street, London. Nov. 14, 1935, No. 31475. [Class 66] A device for opening cartons &c. provided with metal ends comprises a handle member a, terminating in a channel shaped guide a<2> adapted to be engaged over the rim of the end, and a cutter b<1> pivotally or slidably mounted on the handle and capable of being moved into position to sever the fibrous wall portion c in proximity to the mouth of the guide. In the form shown, the cutter is pivoted to the handle at d and has a notch engaging a stop e on the handle, which is formed with a cut-out portion to facilitate manipulation of the cutter.
