[Class 52 (ii)] The folding frame of a bed-settee comprises sections which in the settee position are located at the seat, under the seat, and behind the back-rest, and which are connected by links and levers so that folding or unfolding of one section causes the whole frame to fold or unfold, and the links and levers form guiding and holding means, independent of the settee frame, which guide the sections into folded and extended positions and hold them in such positions. In the form shown in Figs. 1, 4 and 5, the frame comprises a seat section 6, a back section 7, and an under-the-seat section 8. The seat section 6 is connected to the settee frame by links 15, 17, pivoted at 18 and 19, the back section 7 being connected to section 6 by links 26, 27, and the end section 8 connected to the section 6 by links. Folding legs with rollers 38 are provided. In folding, the outer end of the section 8 is raised and pushed inwardly. The rear end of the seat section 6 rises, and the middle section passes under this section and up behind the back rest 2. The latter is loosely upholstered, but is thrust outwardly by that part of the spring interior mattress 10 associated with the section 7. In the settee position the seat section 6 is inverted. The part 12 of the mattress secured to the seat section is connected to the part 10 lying on the other sections 7 and 8 by a flap of such length as to permit the folding movement. In the form shown in Figs. 6 and 7 the inner bed section 51, connected to the fixed frame by links 56, 57, swings up behind the back 55, the middle section 52 lies below the seat, while the outer section 53 is inverted to form the seat. In a further modification, the end section moves over the middle section on links without inversion.
