Abstract

A modification of the process for preparing plastic vulcanizable compositions from fine rubber powder according to the parent Specification comprises employing as the rubber component rubber dust of a particle size of less than 75m . The rubber dust may be obtained by the method described in Specification 438,230. If the resulting composition is to be applied to a permanent support, the support may be coated first with a suitable adhesive, e.g. asphalt, tar, bitumen or a solution or emulsion thereof, or a solution or dispersion of rubber which may be obtained from rubber dust of a particle size less than 75m and which may contain a vulcanizing-agent and an accelerator.
