Abstract
445,163. Compound sheet materials. SAMSONOW, A. DE, 49, Avenue Leopold Wiener, Watermael-Boitsfort, Belgium. Sept. 26, 1934, No. 19856/35. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1933. Divided out of 444,893, [Group XXIII]. [Class 140] A compound sheet material suitable for aeroplane propellers or carlings is made by hot-pressing superposed layers of wood veneer with interposed layers of woven fabric coated or impregnated with a heat-hardening artificial resin at a pressure of the order of 200 kgms. per square centimetre and temperature about 120-145‹ C. The assembly to be hot-pressed may consist of beechwood or birchwood veneers and interposed linen or jute fabric layers, and alternate layers of wood may have the fibres in warp and weft direction.
