444,499. Hinges. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and KAULA, R. J., Witton Moulded Insulation Works, Birmingham. Oct. 16, 1934, No. 29592. [Class 65 (ii)] A container provided with a part of moulded insulating material forming a portion of a hinge has a hinge pin formed of or surrounded by resilient material. In the case of a fuse box 1 having a hinged lid 4, both formed of synthetic resin with a suitable filler, the sides 2 of the box are recessed to receive bosses 5 on each side of the lid. Registering holes through each boss 5 and the adjacent side 2 receive a pin 7, which is preferably moulded from rubber having anti-ageing characteristics, and is provided with heads 8, 9, the smaller head 8 being bevelled, so that it can be compressed and pushed through the holes and expands on the other side, thus holding the pin in position. Alternatively, the head 8 may be omitted and the pin held in position by a split pin passed through a hole drilled through the rubber pin. The pin 7 may be of metal and be either covered with a rubber sleeve or passed through rubber bushings in the holes in the box and its lid.
