Abstract

444,350. Lenses. LEE, H. W., and KAPELLA, Ltd., 104, Stoughton Street, Leicester. Dec. 15, 1934, No. 36034. [Class 97 (i)] A collimated lens system for projecting real images of the profiles of solid objects by light from a source of finite size, comprises two collective members A, B, the member A forming an image of the light source in the entrance pupil of the member B, and the member B being adapted to correct the outstanding aberrations of the member A. Preferably the two members are separately connected for distortion and are separately achromatized. The member B preferably consists, as shown, of three separate components, the outer components being collective and the inner component dispersive. A real stop may be placed at the entrance pupil of the member B, and may be adjustable for different light sources. Data are given for the example shown in which the member A is a cemented doublet, and for another form in which this member consists of a cemented doublet and a separate simple collective element.
