Abstract
443,077. Thermionic valves. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. July 5, 1935, No. 19315. Convention date, July 5, 1934. [Class 39 (i)] The anode system of a magnetron for very short waves comprises metal blocks 4, 5 provided with cylindrical concavities about the cathode 3 and with recesses 6, 7 closed at their ends adjacent to the concavities and open at the other ends for circulation of cooling fluid to the recesses. The blocks 4, 5 are of copper sealed to reentrant stems 8, 9. Water is supplied to the recesses 6, 7 through flexible insulating tubes 12, 13 and is led away through outer tubes 10, 11. The tubes 10, 11 serve as current leads and as a parallel conductor system for the oscillations generated and may contain a flexible part braided with metal or encased with metal foil. The anode system may include more than two blocks 4, 5. Oil or gas may be used as cooling medium. Anode diameters of a few mm. and anode potentials of 1000-2000 volts are referred to.
