Abstract
441,675. Oil engines. LANG, F., 41, Laimerstrasse, Munich, Germany. Sept. 2, 1935, No. 24479. Convention date, Sept. 8, 1934. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii)] In a Diesel engine having in the cylinder head a main combustion chamber d communicating through a tapered passage l with an auxiliary combustion chamber arranged opposite a fuel injector g, an igniter m is placed out of line with the axis of the injector near the rim of the larger end of the passage. The auxiliary chamber is divided into two compartments h, i communicating through a passage which can be closed by a valve k. During starting with the igniter in operation the valve is opened to increase the compression space whilst during normal running the valve is closed and the igniter may be cut out of action.
