Abstract
437,903. Heating water. CRANE, Ltd., and JACKSON, G. R., 45, Leman Street, London. June 13, 1934, No. 17533. [Class 64 (i)] Water in a vertical tank 1 is heated directly by a gas burner 2 with a pilot burner 14 and a thermostat 3 in the water, and by an independent hollowwalled cylinder 6 arranged in the tank and having inlet and outlet pipes 9, 10 at the top and bottom connecting it, without any communication with the interior of the tank, with flow and return pipes of a remotely located and independently heated boiler. The tank has gas flues 4 which may, when the remote boiler is heated, be closed at the lower ends by shutters moved by turning off the main gas tap.
