Abstract

[Class 117] In pneumatic separators of the type in which the materials are distributed in a rising air current by a rotating plate, the rotating plate a extends substantially to the side of the casing d and is provided with holes b, preferably regulable as to number and size,throughwhich the air-current rises and which allow the passage of the coarse material. Rods fare provided either on the plate or the casing to agitate the material. The light material is evacuated at the top of the casing and may be sifted by a rotary sieve e. Apertures g communicating by passages h with the lower part of the machine are provided for the discharge of the heavier material which is too large to pass through the openings b. These apertures may be disposed at different levels and communicate with different discharge passages for the purpose of grading the oversize products. The air current may work in a closed cycle, including a dust separator and may be heated.
