[Class 37] An effective current or wattless current meter comprises a rectifier bridge arrangement 10, 11 to which is fed the sum and difference of currents proportional to the volts and amperes of the network E, the difference of these currents being supplied to a single moving-coil instrument 14. The 90‹ phase shift is obtained by switch 6 and impedance 5. Dry rectifiers are employed and these together with the switch 6 and impedance 5 are mounted in the instrument casing.
