Abstract

433,438. Projectiles. BRANDT, E. W., 101, Boulevard Murat, Paris. April 1, 1935, No. 10142. Convention date, April 5, 1934. [Class 9 (i)] Relates to projectiles 1, Fig. 1, to be fired from mortars and provided with a tail 2 having stabilizing fins 3, in front of which a propellent charge 6 is arranged around the tail. According to the invention, this propellent charge is in the form of an open elastic ring, consisting for example of two segments connected by a spring joint 7, 8, Fig. 2, so that it may be opened out at the free ends 9 for easy insertion or removal. This outer charge is ignited through holes 5 by an inner primary cartridge 4 in known manner.
