[Class 39 (iii)] An electric - induction heater comprises one or more U -shaped copper strips 7 forming the main part of the secondary circuit of a transformer, the secondary circuit being closed by a hotplate 8 formed of iron or other material of comparatively high specific resistance. A cover plate may be secured on top of plate 8. Insulating backing 10 is also provided. The end portions of strips 7 and plate 8 are formed with comb-like teeth and the parts are connected by interlocking these.
