Abstract

Textiles are treated, especially to improve their resistance to creasing, with an aqueous solution containing urea, a polymerization product of formaldehyde and a substance which supplies alkali and the material is then dried at a temperature of about 70--100 DEG C. Suitable substances for use in the process are urea, paraformaldehyde and alkali starch or sodium bicarbonate. Specification 291,473, [Class 42 (i)], is referred to.
