Abstract
431,414. Kitchen ranges. RASANEN, 1., 8, Folkskolegatan, Helsingfors, Finland. Feb. 12, 1934, No. 4588. [Class 126] A kitchen range comprises an oven 4 with a top 15 of mineral material formed of a mixture of sand, cement and clay or a similar refractory material, and a heating chamber 5 at a level below that of the fireplace. Air for combustion is supplied directly through the opening 10, and after heating by passing around one side and the bottom of the range and through a conduit 11 in the side of the fireplace. Heated air is also supplied from a channel around the firedoor opening, and air also passes through openings 18 in the top of the range. The flow of hot gases over and around the heating chamber 5 to the smoke flue 3 is controlled by a damper 14. The grid 19 in the oven may be of artificial stone with a metal plate as frame or bottom, and the top of the range may be covered by a loose heat-insulating plate. A boiler may be provided.
