Abstract

430,949. C e n t r i f u g a l pumps. WORTHINGTON-SIMPSON, Ltd., Lowfield Works, Newark-on-Trent.-(Worthington Pump & Machinery Corporation; Harrison, New Jersey, U.S.A.) Aug. 29, 1934, No. 24901. [Class 110 (i)] The stages of a centrifugal pump are separated by removable diaphragms The diaphragms comprise rings 21, 22 which are clamped to a centre ring 27 by a screwed bush 22<1>. As the bush is screwed into position, the segments of the ring 27 are forced into engagement with the casing 1 by bevelled lugs 34 on the ring 22. The impellers are arranged back to back to reduce the end thrust and the casing is of uniform bore.
