Abstract

829,977. Securing elements to shafts. AMAGHILPERT-PEGNITZHUTTE A.G. Feb. 19, 1958, No. 5428/08. Class 80 (2). A centrifugal pump impeller 7 is secured to its shaft 1 by means of a key 16 and a ring 13 which engages a shoulder 15 on a protective sleeve 2 surrounding the shaft, and secured to the hub 4 of the impeller, and the end of the key 16 under the action of a spring 17 arranged between the end of the shaft and the bottom of the closed bore of the hub. The ring 13 may be split and accommodated in a groove in the shaft instead of bearing against the key. The hub 4 may be extended at 6 to receive the hub of a second impeller 9 keyed thereto and secured by a nut 10 and locking-ring 12.
