[Class 56] [See also Group XI] An incandescent electric lamp has the bulb composed of a glass which arrests visible luminous rays having a wavelength higher than about 0À5 micron, but transmits rays of shorter wavelength. The glass used contains cobalt oxide, and may also contain copper oxide and nickel oxide. The lamp may be used for illuminating the indicating devices used in vehicles which travel by night, such as aeroplanes, when parts of the devices are coated with salts which become luminous when subjected to chemically-active rays. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 127,586, [Class 56].
