[Class 81 (ii)] A sanitary towel comprises a pad 5 of absorbent material enclosed in a wrapper 10 of open mesh textile material, and cushion strips 6 are interposed between the wrapper and the pad and are so arranged that each strip overlies a side edge and comparatively narrow marginal portions of one or both surfaces of the pad. The cushion strips 6 arc thin and are preferably formed of soft, loosely-felted cotton fibres so that they adhere to the pad and the wrapper.
