Abstract
429,479. Printing-surfaces. NELSON, I. T., Parkside Works, Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh. Nov. 6, 1934, No. 31830. Addition to 398,918. [Class 100 (ii)] In a printing-plate assembly as described in the parent Specification, the clamps are provided with perforations to receive spindles forming distance-pieces between the rows of plates. The clamps may be provided with depending necks terminating in shoulders whereby the clamps may be dropped into the guide grooves on the machine bed and then given a quarter turn to retain them in the grooves. In one form, Figs. 2 and 3, the clamps 2 are provided with perforations 46 to receive adjustable spacing spindles 35 provided with nuts 36 and capstan heads 37. The perforations are provided in neck portions 44 terminating in oppositely directed shoulders 45 engaging beneath undercut portions of the guide grooves 4 in the machine bed 3. In another form, Fig. 7, each clamp 21 is provided with a pair of spacing spindles 35 threaded through a bar 41 engaging one of the clamps. Specification 427,853 is referred to.
