Abstract
428,001. Race - game apparatus. LAMBERT, W., 24, Belgrave Road, Margate. July 13, 1934, No. 20561. [Class 132 (ii)] In a race-game apparatus wherein elements representing dogs, motorcars, horses, &c. are moved competitively along independent tracks by oscillatory movement thereof, the moving track bands B being connected at the starting end C to springs D while their other ends B<1> are reciprocated irregularly under manual control, the track bands are associated with a base A provided with humps A<2> or other obstacles for the elements to negotiate. Each band end B<1> is engaged by a lever F pivoted at F<1> and oscillated by a " quick return " cam G driven by a motor H, each motor being controlled by a switch J operated by a competitor. Alternatively, the competitors may rotate the cams G manually through cranks. The bands B are of leather, tape or other inextensible material and move between guides K on the base or table A, Fig. 3, which maintain them in effective association with the obstacles. On reaching the winning post each element operates a contact L to operate a visual indicator L <1>. The levers F normally engage adjustable stops comprising rubber buffers M carried by screws M<1> and independently adjustable through bevel gearing M<2>, M<3>.
