Convention date, Sept. 21, 1932. Divided out of 427,472. [Class 98 (ii)] Comprises a multi-layer photographic film in which the layers are substantially uncoloured but differentially sensitized, one layer, preferably the sole layer on one side of the support, being sensitized to infra-red. As shown, a three-colour film comprises a support 20 provided on one side with thin layers 21, 22 sensitized respectively to green and red, and on the other, with a thin layer 24 sensitized to infra red. The layers 21, 22 consist of fast emulsion sensitized respectively with erythrosin and naphthocyanol and are separated by a thin layer 23 of gelatine. The layer 24 is of silver chloride emulsion sensitized with neocyanine and is covered with a varnish layer 25, e.g. of benzyl cellulose, which may contain lampblack or a dye to avoid halation. The film is printed, as described in Specification 427,472, and is processed to minus colours, as described in Specifications 427,516, 427,517, and 427,520. The layer 24 may contain silver bromide, the varnish layer 25 being dispensed with ; the film is then processed by flotation or other mechanical methods.
