Abstract

446,392. Colour photography. GASPAR, B., 42, Avenue Victor Rousseau, Forest, Brussels. Aug. 9, 1935, No. 225S4. Convention date, Aug. 9, 1934. [Class 98 (ii)] Colour photographs and kinemanograph films are produced by printing from a multi-colour picture, which has been produced by colour development of a multi-layer light sensitive material, by coloured printing light absorbed only by the colour of the part layer in the multi-layer material on to separate colour sensitive material to obtain black and white partial images, and using the black and white partial images either as master images or as intermediate images in printing on to multilayer light sensitive material. A bipack may be used comprising one film with two differently colour sensitized layers and another film with a single layer. The two layer film is exposed through the support. The layer next the support is blue sensitive and contains thioindoxyl carboxylic acid, and the top layer is green sensitized and contains a decolorable yellow filter dyestuff and alpha-chloracetoacetic ester. The film is developed with diethyl-p-phenylenediamine. The single layer on the rear film is red-sensitized. In a modification, a pack comprises a blue-sensitive front film and a rear film comprising an upper green sensitized layer containing a yellow filter dyestuff and alpha-chloroaocetoacetic ester and a red-sensitized lower layer containing thioindoxylcarboxylic acid. The layers may be on opposite sides of the support. After development and fixing, the metallic silver is removed with Farmer's reducer. Black and white images are obtained from the colourdeveloped two layer film using yellow, or green, and blue filters successively. The material on to which the black and white images are printed may contain dyestuffforming components or dyestuffs, or the dyestuff forming components may be present in the developer. The colour development may be performed by fractional development. The silver images in the black and white pictures may be transformed into silver halide and colour developed. Specifications 2562 /13, [Class 98 (ii)], 379,679, 408,991, and 415,040 are referred to.
