[Class 40 (v)] A transmission system in which communication is effected by currents of complex frequency comprises a four-wire circuit consisting of two pairs, the mean axes of which are coincident, no other wire being situated in the space enclosed by the four wires, and communication is effected by one band of frequencies over the four-wire circuit and another separate band over a pair. The four-wire circuit is not subject, and does not give rise, to interference and is suitable for transmission of music which may be by modulated carrier wave. The pairs of wires are terminated by the usual centretapped transformers &c.
