[Class 8 (ii)] [See also Groups XXI and XIII] A mixture of water snow and carbon dioxide snow is made by spraying carbon dioxide from cylinders 1 into a chamber 5 by nozzles 4, and water from an annular cylinder 10 into the same chamber by a nozzle 16, the water being driven by carbon dioxide from a cylinder 11 controlled by a valve 13 and a pressure gauge 14. The chamber 5 is surrounded with wool 7 and placed in a larger casing 6 connected by a pipe 19 to a gas holder 18 for the recovery of the carbon dioxide not solidified in the process. The chambers 5, 6 are provided with lids 8, 9 to permit the removal of the snow.
