Abstract
423,741. Hair - waving processes. STRONG, J. N., 3, Barston Road, West Norwood, London. Aug. 2, 1933, No. 21690. [Class 131] A process of permanent hair-waving comprises impregnating the tresses with an aqueous emulsion of a mineral or vegetable oil and an alkali borate, sulphite, carbonate or hydroxide, either before or after winding the tresses on the curlers, and then applying heat thereto. The mineral oil may be either of the paraffin or asphaltic type, and suitable vegetable oils are olive, linseed, maize or cotton seed oil. Gelatine, agar agar, Irish moss or triethanolamine may be used as the emulsifying agent.
