423,534. Dental - impression trays. ENGLISH, E. M., and ENGLISH, F., 149, Lichfield Road, Four Oaks, Warwickshire. Oct. 31, 1933, No. 30209. [Class 81 (ii)] A dental-impression tray is formed with a number of apertures in the form of slits or cuts 16, that edge of each slit nearest the periphery of the tray being bent outwardly so as to form tongues 17 which engage impression material expressed through the slits and resist separation of the material from the tray. The slits are preferably of C-shape, as shown, and a flange 18 may be formed on the tray. In the form shown in Fig. 5 the palate portion of the tray is formed by a detachable member 20 secured to the flat web 22 of the tray by a peg 21 fitted with a key pin 23 or with a nut. Members 20 of various curvatures are provided so that the tray may be adapted for various shapes of mouth. A handle 13 is secured to the tray by rivets. A tray for the lower jaw may similarly be formed with slits and tongues.
