Abstract
422,984. Electric induction furnaces. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, Vasteras, Sweden. Jan. 19, 1934, No. 1961. Convention date, Dec. 19, 1933. [Class 39 (iii)] The main part of the crucible 1 is in the form of an inverted cone with a vertex angle of at least 45‹ and the winding forms complete turns around the crucible. The cone terminates in a calotte. A plurality of spaced windings 2, 3, 4, on cones of a smaller vertex angle than the crucible, may be provided. The number of turns. per winding increases from the top to the bottom of the crucible. The windings are braced against the iron shell 8 by levers 7 and may be fed with high and low frequency current for controlling heating and stirring independently as described in Specification 423,326.
