Abstract
421,445. Golf balls. YOUNG CO., L. A., 6545, St. Antoine Street, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Young, L. A.) May 23, 1934, No. 15442. Convention date, Dec. 15, 1933. [Class 132 (ii)] A core for golf balls comprises a spherical resilient sack filled only with honey. The sack, which may be made of rubber with an inner coating of viscous uncured rubber, is wound first with rubber tape under tension, and then with ribbon strands under tension, an outer shell being applied by moulding. A nozzle 7 for filling the sack 2 with honey has passages 8, 9 connected respectively to an exhaust pas. sage 14 and a supply passage 15 according to the position of a valve 12. A rubber patch is used to seal the hole in the core caused by the nozzle.
