Abstract
420,839. Glass bottles. ENOCK, A. G., Dutch House, Raglan Gardens, Wembley Park, AUTO-DAIRY PIONEERS, Ltd., Palace of Industry, Wembley, both in Middlesex, and UNITED GLASS BOTTLE MANUFACTURERS, Ltd., 40, Norfolk Street, Strand, London. June 12, 1933, No. 16746. [Class 125 (i)] A wide-mouthed glass bottle, such as is used for the distribution of milk, has a straight-sided body portion merging into a straightsided neck portion the latter being provided, adjacent its pouring lip or edge, with an annular recess b for the reception of part of a closure member and, adjacent its lower end, with an external projection a of annular formation and of such a size as to afford means by which the bottle may be carried or suspended and so disposed that, when the bottle is lifted or carried, the fingers or hand of the person holding the bottle will not contact with or contaminate the pouring edge or lip thereof. The projection a affords a convenient means by which the bottle may be suspended or supported while the milk is being subjected to a pasteurisation or like treatment such as described in Specifications 270,882, [Class 49], 363,048, and 363,071, [both in Group VI].
