419,637. Nonconducting coverings for heat. MUNTERS, C. G., 35, Strandvagen, Stockholm. Feb. 23, 1934, No. 6009. Convention date, March 1, 1933. [Class 64 (ii).] In heat insulation comprising a pack of spaced sheets of paper 2 enclosed within a cardboard casing 3, 4 to form layers of air or gas, the sheets are spaced apart within the limits of 0À1 to 1À2 mm., at which spacings heat losses due to convection and also radiation are a minimum. A preferred spacing is 0À5 mm. The paper may comprise thin asbestos or kraft paper and may be creased or crumpled to ensure relative separation. Plain sheets may be alternated with the corrugated sheets. The sheets may be impregnated with linseed oil or paraffin. Specification 398,205 is referred to.
