Abstract

An eyepiece or a transparent mask body for a gas-mask is made of polymeric vinyl compounds, such as difficultly combustible polyvinyl chloride, subsequently chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, or mixed polymerates of vinyl chloride and other polymerizable organic compounds. Softening agents or transparent resins or difficultly volatile solvents may be added to the vinyl compounds. Small quantities of other substances, such as dyestuffs or substances affecting the pliability of the composition, may also be incorporated.
