Abstract
418,539. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Acly, H. M. ; 47, Waverly Street, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) Nov. 22, 1933, No. 32627. Convention date, Nov. 22, 1932. [Class 38 (ii).] A core for a transformer is formed by winding a flat strip of magnetic material to the form shown in Fig. 3, saw cuts are then made at the points 14, 15 and the parts reassembled with the butt joints staggered as shown in Fig. 4. In a modification only one cut is made, the side being made slightly longer. With this arrangement the parts have to be bent during assembly of the transformer. Preferably the parts are annealed after bending and cutting.
