Abstract
417,717. Greasing moulded dough lumps. RUSSELL, R., 103, Lee Bank Road, Birmingham. March 7, 1933, No. 6847. [Class 28 (i).] A machine for greasing moulded lumps of dough comprises a tumiel-like chamber c lined with greaseabsorbing material and so arranged with respect to a conveyer belt b that the latter constitutes a travelling bottom for the chamber and supports the dough during greasing. The greasing chamber is of inverted channel section and is lined with felt d which is supplied with grease from a reservoir through pipes el, e<2>. The supply of grease may be controlled by a valve geared to one of the rollers of the belt b. The lining d may be detachably secured to the chamber and the lower edges of the sides of the chamber may have grease-collecting gutters f, Fig. 5, into which the lining extends. The chamber may be adjusted vertically relatively to the belt by screw devices g. The dimensions of the chamber are such that the dough contacts with the roof and sides and is thus rotated upon the belt b. According to the Provisional Specification, the lining d may be secured at its edges by clamping bars and the middle portion may be held in place by a tape.
