Abstract

416,646. Camera lucidas. MARX & CO., Ltd., L., Waddam's Pool Works, Dudley, Worcestershire.-(Marx & Co., Inc., L. ; 200, 5th Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) April 28, 1934, No. 12891. [Class 97 (i).] A camera lucida comprises a base plate 1 and a picture holder and viewing device carried by arms 7 and 8 respectively which are independently adjustable and collapsable on the base. The arms are L-shaped the horizontal portions 6 being adjustably clamped in grooves 3 in the plate 1 by spring plates screwed down by screws 5. The viewing device comprises a box having a mirror 17 forming one side and a glass plate 20 forming the other. On looking through the eye piece 18 a horizontal virtual image of a drawing clipped to the board 1 will be seen by reflection from the mirror and glass plate. The outline of the drawing can then be traced on a horizontal sheet of paper.
