Abstract

415,237. Valve amplifying circuits. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., Caxton House, Tothill Street, and CRUTCH, L. S., 15, Mundania Road, East Dulwich, both in London. June 20, 1933, No. 17560. [Class 40 (v).] The cathode of a thermionic valve, which may be an audio frequency amplifier, is heated from one secondary winding 5, 7 of a transformer and hum, due to harmonics of the supply frequency, is removed by a circuit Z associated with another secondary winding 3, 4 which supplies a current rectifying device RB. The circuit Z may be a series circuit tuned to the dominant harmonic or a combination of tuned circuits which may be connected in parallel and tuned to different frequencies or a condenser.
