Abstract

415,220. Pivots. NICO MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., 120, Moorgate, London, and NIEDERDRENK, G., 6, Icknield Way, Letchworth, Hertfordshire. May 10, 1933, No. 13587. [Class 65 (ii).] Pivoting adjustments.-A friction pivot for a swing mirror or the like comprises a fixing bracket 2 and a tapered flanged channel member 4 rotatably attached thereto, the flanges of the member 4 engaging corresponding turned-over edges 15 of a second fixing plate 14 ; a rivet 7 connecting the members 2, 4 carries a friction washer 8, spring washer 10 and retaining washer 11. In the form shown, the rivet is made non-circular in section, the holes in members 4, 8, 11 being of corresponding shape so that all these members rotate together. The member 4 is readily disengaged from the plate 14 by sliding it upwards, stops 16 being provided to limit movement in the engaging direction.
