Abstract

412,897. Roller-and-breast mills. GOESER, P. A., 77, Richard Wagner Strasse, and DRAISWERKE GES., Waldhof, both in Mannheim, Germany. March 13, 1934, No. 7849. [Class 59.] In a roller-and breast mill having a plurality of rubbing breasts arranged in series, the rubbing bars are arranged to act simultaneously as fine grinding bars to effect comminution of the material and may be swung clear of the roll separately or together or in common with their feed hoppers to enable access for cleaning. As shown a single roll c, which may be reciprocated axially, is provided with two grinding bars d, e and two hoppers f, e<1>, the material from the hopper f being ground between the bar d and roll c and after passing through the hopper e<1> is ground between the bar e and roll c. The hoppers and grinding bars may be swung simultaneously about a pivot g, Fig. 1, for cleaning purposes. Two side cheeks g<1> pivoted at g have brackets h which carry hopper adjusting screws i. The grinding bars are mounted on bridge pieces k, k<1>, fixed to the side frames. The bridge k of the bar d may be pivoted to the frame at one end and retained by a wing nut at the other so that the bar may be swung clear of the frame when raising the hoppers.
