Abstract
412,378. Starting pumps; watersupply systems. BUNN, G., Maltings Yard, Norwich Road, Wroxham, Norfolk. April 20, 1933, No. 11607. [Class 102 (i).] In a water-supply system for a boat &c. the draw-off cocks 1, Fig. 4, are combined with switches which control, through a relay, the circuit of an electric motor 28 driving the supply pump 4. The pump discharges to the distribution pipe 3 through a pipe 29 and check valve 31. A three-way valve 32 permits byepassing the check-valve 31 through a pipe 30. Each cock 1 may comprise a spindle 7, Fig. 1, carrying at its lower end a valve 10 controlling communication between the supply opening 2 and the discharge spout 5. The spindle 7 is provided at its upper end with a crosshead carrying a member which bridges the electrical contacts 14. The valve is operated by a lever 13. In a modification, the valve is opened by depression of a cap, which simultaneously earths a lead in the circuit of the pump motor.
