Abstract
410,995. Seals. HORSLEY, J., 55, Dixon Avenue, Glasgow. Aug. 23, 1933, No. 23419. [Class 146 (ii).] Envelopes, boxes, containers, &c. are provided with sealing means consisting of two plates V, T, the plate T having an eyelet W with a projection, and a dome-shaped projection U, and the plate V having two eyelets X, X<1> with similar projections, one plate V being fixed, in the case of an envelope, to the closing flap and the other plate T to the back of the envelope in such positions that the plate V, when the flap is closed, registers over the plate T and may be tapped with a hammer &c. to lock it thereto. The eyelets are formed by punching holes in the plates, the parts removed forming the projections. When the plates are knocked together the projection on the eyelet X<1> engages and encompasses the dome-shaped projection U, and the projections on the eyelets W and X become interlockingly engaged. An extension may be provided on the back of the envelope and tipped with gum so that it may be folded over and stuck to the enclosure to prevent the latter being removed surreptitiously.
