Abstract

410,901. Letter cards. BROWN, T., and BROWN, B. K., 10, Granville Gardens, Ealing Common, London. Dec. 31, 1932, No. 36976. [Class 146 (ii).] A letter-card comprising a wrapper a and a foldable base card b is provided on the card b with a collapsable inset or insets constituting a self-erecting model or models, so connected to the card b that the models fold up flatly on bringing the leaves of the card together, and automatically erect themselves when the card is opened out. The card b is attached at one side to the wrapper by adhesive. The wrapper a and card b are folded at a<2>, and the flap is inserted into a slot a<3> to lie between the body of the wrapper and the card b. If desired foldable side flaps may be provided to the right of the fold line a<2>. The model shown represents a church building comprising the main portion c, choir portion c<2>, and a rectangular tower c<1>. The portions c<1> and c are anchored to the card b by gummed feet d, d<1>, e, e<1>, and the portion c<2> is anchored to the side of the portion c by gummed feet f, f<1>. All the end walls of the three portions are scored vertically in alignment with the fold line a<2> to facilitate folding. The models may be illustrations for reading matter set out on the letter-card. According to the Provisional Specification the component parts of a model of a head may be arranged so that various facial expressions are expressed, such as the opening and closing of eyes or mouth.
