Abstract
410,664. Boxes. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, London. (Forbes Lithograph Manufacturing Co.; Chelsea, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) Sept. 14, 1933. No. 25482. [Class 18.] A collapsable box which may be folded along a central plane comprises a front wall 11, back wall 5 and side walls 7, 13 hingedly connected in circuit by tabs 17 and a bottom 19 hingedly connected to the walls 5, 11, the bottom having an area greater than the cross-section of the box in the plane of its connection thereto and the central portion between the lines 27 being less than such cross-section so that the surplus portions 25 at the sides of the central portion become jammed against the walls 7, 13 when the box is erected and maintain it in the erected form. As shown the boxes of frusto-pyramidal form and the bottom has a central hinge line 23 ; a display card 29 may be hinged at the top edge of the box and may be arranged to extend along the wall 5 across its junction with the walls 7, 13 so that when the box is erected the card 29 is lowered and prevented from collapsing along the hinge line 30.
