Abstract

Tubular bodies, particularly sausage casings, prepared from viscose are allowed to rest for several hours between the washing and desulphurizing treatments, the tendency for the evolution of gas inside the tube being thereby reduced. A rest period of from six to twelve hours is proposed, and preferably the tube is allowed to remain in water during this period.
