407,650. Washing-machines. SIMS, W. H., 190, South Street, New Whittington, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Nov. 16, 1933, No. 31930. Addition to 394,529. [Class 138 (ii).] The apparatus described in the parent Specification is modified in that the part 16 which is connected to the hooked member 13 formed on or rigidly secured to the tub, is pivotally mounted at 17 on an intermediate member 18 to which the operating lever 24 is pivoted at 19. A spring 22 is connected between the lever and an upward extension 21 of the intermediate member to assist the up-stroke. The operating lever is cranked upwardly and is made in two portions for convenience in packing. A plate 15 secured to the hooked member 13 supports the member 16.
