[Class 138 (ii).] The plunger rod e of a washing-appliance is guided in the top and bottom members of a frame a which is secured to a bar b extending across the cover c of the wash-tub. A crank arm g is rotated by a handwheel h or other power and is coupled to a stud i on the plunger rod by means of a connecting- rod k. An extension of the stud i is guided between two members j secured to the frame to prevent the rod twisting when in use. The upper end of the plunger rod is covered by a member f.
