407,256. Spectacles &c. REICHENBACH, A., REICHENBACH, G., REICHENBACH, L., REIS, W., (trading as RAU, G.), 7, Kaiser Friedrichstrasse, Pforzheim, and KLICKOW, H., 1, Dunkerstrasse, Rathenow, both in Germany. Aug. 14, 1933, No. 22675. Convention date, March 27. [Class 97 (i).] The lens rims of spectacles &c. are made wholly or partly of metal tubing. In Fig. 1 the rim consists of a longitudinally split tube a into which the lens c is inserted. The temple connection d may be mounted either directly on the tube a or on a separate sleeve e. In another form the lens is mounted in a wire rim which is surrounded by the metal tube. The tube may be fluted to give added strength. Instead of a split tube, a closed tube may be used having a section, such as shown in Fig. 3, which will provide a seating for the lens. To obtain an ornamental effect the tube may be formed from a sheet m, Fig. 4, plated in stripes o, p. This sheet is cut along lines n crossing the stripes obliquely and a tube is formed by drawing the cut-out part.
