Abstract

Material to be heated is supported upon a metallic perforated element heated by the passage of an electric current therethrough, and the resulting vapours are removed continuously by blowing or sucking air through the perforations. The roller apparatus described in Specification 408,296 may be employed. Liquids may be evaporated from chemicals in the form of a slurry or paste applied directly to the heated surface or carried by a belt in contact therewith.
